CAnadian Network for REsearch on COVID-19 and Rheumatology (CAN-RECOVR)

People living with rheumatic diseases may be at risk for poor health outcomes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Rheumatic diseases are chronic autoimmune conditions that currently have no cure. They include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, scleroderma, inflammatory myositis, and spondyloarthritis.  The nature of these conditions and the need for immunosuppressive therapies puts patients at risk for infections. The pandemic has also affected care delivery across the nation.

We established the CAnadian Network for REsearch on COVID-19 in Rheumatology (CAN-RECOVR) to better understand how COVID-19 and the pandemic will affect patients with rheumatic disease, so we can work together to improve care.  Through this collaborative network, we will connect Canadian research groups, identify priority questions, and harmonize data collection related to COVID-19 and rheumatic disease across Canada. CAN-RECOVR will distribute information on research projects and findings through this website.
